Shoneza began her professional journey after earning a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Guyana in 2012. Shortly after graduation, she worked as a hospital pharmacist for three years, gaining firsthand experience in the healthcare sector. Her dedication and performance led her to transition into a role at a distribution company, where she received multiple awards for being the best performing representative.
At DATT'S PHARMA IMPORTS, Shoneza is entrusted with key responsibilities that include launching new pharmaceutical products, organizing meetings with healthcare professionals, and overseeing digital marketing initiatives. Kalawattie Datt serves as the Procurement and Regulatory Manager for Datt’s Pharma Imports. In this capacity, she is responsible for sourcing and securing suppliers, managing inventory, and overseeing all regulatory aspects of the business. Her role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and regulatory compliance of the company’s pharmaceutical supply chain.
Hailing from a family deeply rooted in the pharmacy profession, her passion for pharmacy was cultivated from a young age. Her father, a pharmacist himself, provided both the environment and exposure that inspired her to pursue a career in the field. This familial influence ignited a lifelong commitment to the profession.
Kalawattie is a pharmacist with over 25 years of distinguished experience. She began her career as a Community Pharmacist, dedicating the first eight years to serving patients directly. After the birth of her daughter, she sought to broaden her horizons within pharmacy and transitioned into the distribution sector. Over the past fifteen years, Kalawattie has excelled in the distribution aspect of pharmacy, starting as a medical representative and steadily advancing to management roles. Her extensive background in both community and distribution pharmacy has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
Kalawattie’s academic achievements reflect her dedication to both science and business. She holds an Associate Degree in Medical Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, both from the University of Guyana. Recognizing the importance of business acumen in the evolving healthcare landscape, she pursued and earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Bedfordshire.
Driven by a desire to contribute to the advancement of her profession, Kalawattie joined key professional organizations in 2000. She is an active member of the Guyana Pharmacists’ Association, Pharmacy Council of Guyana, Commonwealth Pharmacists Association, and the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists. Over the years, she has held numerous leadership roles, including:
